EARTH MOVEMENTS
It is right now a jubilee year
and my back is shining
and I have been tromping
on so many orbits
waiting for something to happen
that I have since
become immovable.
I don’t think I’ve mentioned how
my shoulders keep dazzling
and where there are lines
there are times
and places
that I am to meet everyone.
It’s all over out there, I’ve heard.
I mean, I am finding it hard
to fan out the weather balloons,
what with all this cross-draft.
The swimming pools lean
far enough away
to see the earth bow out.
The ellipses have been quiet
for a while now.
It would be impossible to
talk on the phone after this.
