I know when you’re pretending
not to look.
A cheerleader
with no real heart
is spooking the horses.
Light rail stops.
Your other half
is in the
emergency.
The nurses are out smoking
and checking their messages.
They may mock
your attachments
to touchstones.
In terms of high school,
to be a senior.
What did all those
Kung Fu movies do to you?
A brain trained on
wildly changing colors
will find it hard to focus
on a teacher.
By any means
you cut her mic.
You need to show them
you have a heart.
